- Agriculture Productivity Program for Southern Africa (APPSA) from 2014 to 2016, in the Department of Agriculture Extension Services (DAES)
- Agriculture Sector Wide Support Project (ASWAP 1 & 2) (ASWAP) April 2018 to 2020, in the Department of Agriculture Extension Services (DAES) and
- Program for Rural Irrigation Development (PRIDE), in the Department of Agriculture Extension Services (DAES) among other distinctions in the field.
Yakosa helps Agriculture Extension staff, stakeholders and farmers get equipped with agriculture extension knowledge and skills which ensures that all agriculture programs and projects are operating in a sustainable manner. Yakosa does this through implementing agriculture extension approaches and systems for delivery of agriculture services with the primary role of promoting adoption of improved Agricultural technologies.
Linda Kuntembwe is an experienced educationist, real estate consultant and business developer. She is driven by passion to see local Malawians establish credible businesses in all sectors. She takes pride in providing best business advice to starters, in particular. Her goals include growing an inspired business owners community comprised of local Malawians. Her primary job function is establishing business entities from scratch.
Rosemary Sadyalunda holds a master’s degree in urban studies, with a concentration in community development. She is a retired Secondary School teacher.
Her passion is empowering girls and women. She is also very interested in politics, and in 2019 she was one of the candidates that contested for a Parliamentary seat. Her hope is to contest again in 2025.
Gertrude is a Gender and Youth Specialist with a strong drive for the attainment of social justice, ending SGBV, HP and SRHR and equity for vulnerable groups including children, young people and women.
Ms Chitika has since 2019 worked with UN Women and Office of the UN Resident Coordinator on joint EU and UN programme on eliminating violence against women and girls and PSEA. She has served in this area for the last 2 years to promote the rights of and service to women and girls through her contribution to to the review of laws and policies that address SGBV, SRHR, HP issues, strengthening of institutions that work on eliminating GBV, prevention of social norms, provision of quality essential services in eliminating GBV, GBV data, women movement, male engagement.
She has also worked on HIV prevention, resilient systems for Health including community systems strengthening, girls and young women`s mentorship programs and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. Her role also centers on transformational leadership development with a specific interest in the role men and boys can play in creating opportunities and spaces for meaningful participation and the empowerment of vulnerable girls and young women.
Over the past 10 years Gertrude, has been working on issues of Gender research, planning, mainstreaming and gender integration in Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning, WASH, as well as Agriculture and SBCC.
Gertrude has vast experience in conducting gender analysis including gender audit, development of gender sensitive data collection tools, gender transformative training, and presenting the results to support evidence-based decision making at both macro and micro policy levels for gender integration and mainstreaming. She has managed and coordinated EU and UN joint program on eliminating gender-based violence including developing theories of change that are all inclusive on issues of gender related laws, institutions that support in EVAWG, service provision and building of women’s in EVAWG including SGBV, HP and SRHR.
Before joining UN Women, Gertrude worked with FHI 360 as Gender and Youth Specialist, Project Concern International as a Gender Advisor, World Vision International and Malawi Human Rights Commission. She has worked closely with government ministries and other strategic partners.

Martha Alufeyo comes from Mulanje southern part of Malawi. She is a second year master’s student in aquaculture at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). She received a bachelor’s degree in aquaculture and fisheries from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources Malawi. Her current research project is on Technical and economic performance of fish-cum- vegetable integrated system under the direction of Dr J. Valeta. She is also a research assistant for Quantum for Urban Agriculture, Livelihoods and Environmental sanitation for sustainability and scaling out of the results. (QUALivES). She enjoys art work (fashion designing, embroidery, crocheting and tailoring.
Anganile Nthakomwa is Deputy Director of Arts (Censorship) in the Department of Arts in the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife. In her job she oversees the administration of the Censorship and Control of Entertainment Act by championing law enforcement in the regulation of films (making, classification and exhibition of films/cinematographic pictures), publications and public entertainment. She also is a Board member of the Malawi Digital Broadcasting Network Limited (MDBNL) where she serves as the chairperson of the Finance, Audit and Human Resource Committee.
Prior to her current position she has worked in various capacities in the then Department of Culture. She has vast and diverse experience spanning 19 years in Malawi’s arts and culture and creative industry. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English (Andrews University, Zimbabwe), a Postgraduate diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies (University of Cape Town and the Western Cape in collaboration with Robben Island Museum) and a Masters degree in Intellectual Property (Africa University, Zimbabwe).

Wezzie Ng'ona Nkhoma-Somba
Wezzie Ng’ona Nkhoma-Somba is a communications specialist with 8 years of experience in that capacity, built on the background of 15 years of journalism. She ventured into journalism at a time it was highly skewed towards males but she established herself in the profession and gained some accolades for outstanding journalism.
In 2012, she won a local Best Journalist Award in Maternal Health for an investigation into poor working conditions in a maternity ward of a public health institution in Blantyre. She was also nominated for Child Reporting Best Journalist Award in the same year.
While in the field, she has undertaken efforts to upgrade herself. In 2008, she was awarded a scholarship by the Jean Rich Foundation of Canada brokered by Thomson foundation, a leading media development NGO. She obtained an Advanced Diploma in International Broadcast Journalism that later earned her a placement at the BBC Radio Ulster in Northern Ireland. The course was run by the Thomson Foundation in co-operation with Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Culture in the United Kingdom.
Earlier in 2006, she was also awarded an exchange programme scholarship that saw her spending two months at SABC’s SAFM as a journalist. In her capacity as communications officer, Wezzie handles the media, organises corporate and publicity events and also produces articles for the organisation’s magazine, newsletter, the website and social media. As a communications specialist, she has gained experience in company reputation and crisis management.
Her professional background gives her an edge in understanding trends in the media world and developing good working relationships with the media. Wezzie is generally career-focused but she is also very active in her personal life. Her hobbies include watching TV, reading, interacting with people and doing some exercises to keep fit.
